Smart screens are an increasingly popular part of the school environment — they make it simpler to communicate with and inform pupils and teachers alike. But how does installing them actually go? Let’s look at a specific case at a school where we installed three screens: at reception, in the first-floor corridor and in the staff room, so that the news doesn’t pass the teaching staff by either.
Installation outside teaching hours
To avoid disrupting the running of the school, the installation took place over the weekend. That keeps any interference with teaching to a minimum and means all the necessary work can be done quickly. The caretaker was present throughout, providing access to the rooms and keeping an eye on things. The caretaker’s presence isn’t a requirement, though — we respect each school’s wishes here.
Precise placement and mounting
Before the installation itself, we agreed with the school’s management on the best placement for each screen:
- Reception — the screen informs pupils the moment they arrive at school.
- First-floor corridor — a strategic spot with heavy footfall, where pupils always have an overview of timetable changes.
- Staff room — teachers see the important information too and have instant access to the latest news.
We carefully fixed each screen to the wall with a professional mount that keeps it stable and secure. When choosing where to put them, don’t forget the teachers either — a screen also works well in the head’s office, in departmental offices or in the staff room.
Connection: Wi-Fi or wired network
The screens can be connected over Wi-Fi or via a fixed data connection. In this case we used the school’s data network. For schools that don’t have Wi-Fi available or prefer a cable, we also offer a variant with a remote LTE connection — though that involves a monthly fee to the operator. The right solution depends on the school’s preferences and the options of its IT infrastructure.
A tidy finish
To make everything look professional, we ran the cabling into trunking and sealed it in. That not only improves the appearance but also protects the cables from damage and keeps the setup safe.

Cleaning up and a final check
Once the mounting was done, we thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned all the spaces so no debris was left behind. Finally, we ran a closing check on all three screens, tested the connection and made sure they were ready for live operation from Monday morning.
